
Steven Pfeiffer served as Editor-in-Chief of the APA Handbook of Giftedness and Talent, published by APA Books in 2017. This Handbook includes chapters authored by the leading thinkers and researchers in the gifted field. Considered an important and authoritative resource in the gifted field.

Steven Pfeiffer served as co-editor with Maureen Neihart and Tracy L. Cross for the Second Edition of The Social and Emotional Development of Gifted Children, a service publication of the National Association for Gifted Children [NAGC], published in 2016 by Prufrock Press.

Springer invited Steven Pfeiffer to serve as editor of the First and Second Edition of their Handbook of Giftedness in Children. The Second Edition of the Handbook was published in 2018, and provides cutting-edge psycho-educational theory, research, and best practices on serving the gifted.

Steven Pfeiffer authored this widely popular book, Serving the Gifted, specifically for practitioners. Published in 2013, this book provides “hands-on” information based on the author’s experience as a therapist, teacher, administrator, and consultant. Pfeiffer’s “tripartite model of giftedness” is introduced in this book, as are his ideas on “strengths of the head and heart,” social-emotional learning, and emotional intelligence.

Steven Pfeiffer co-edited with Paula Olszewski-Kubilius and Lisa Limburg-Weber this parent-friendly book, Early Gifts: Recognizing and Nurturing Children’s Talents. He authored a widely-popular chapter in the book, “Psychological Considerations in Raising a Healthy Gifted Child.“ The chapter discusses ways for parents to promote healthy psychological development, and has served as the impetus for many invitations for talks to parent groups.
